LIGHTNING !! There is a lightning alarm at JBHS in the corner up by the announcer's box in the football stands. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO IT! When lightning is detected, there is one long blast followed by 30 minutes of a flashing white strobe light. Provided no additional lightning is detected, an "all clear" signal of 3 long blasts will let you know it's safe to return to the field. It is the policy of JBSC (and Martin County Parks & Rec) that if the lightning alarm sounds, EVERYONE LEAVES THE FIELD IMMEDIATELY and seeks cover, preferably in a car. No one should return to the field until the "all clear" signal is heard and the strobe is no longer flashing. There are many in this club who have witnessed the tragic effect of a rogue lightning strike. BE SAFE!
